Q
Where are you located and what are your hours of operation?
AOur address is 342 Ontario St, and we are located behind the Performance Hyundai dealership. We are open from 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Q
Do I need to make an appointment for an estimate?
AYes, that way we can do our best to alleviate waiting times for you. We schedule estimates between 9am and 4pm, Monday – Friday.
Q
What do I do if it’s not going through my insurance but the other person’s insurance?
AIn Ontario if your vehicle is involved in an accident your own insurance company will take care of your claim. You will need to provide them with the insurance information of the other party and then they will take care of speaking to that insurance company.
Q
What questions do I need to ask my insurance company?
AWe will provide you with a helpful sheet of questions to ask your insurance company, but these would be a couple: Do I have a deductible? Do I have rental coverage? Do I have a rental limit? What is my claim number?
Q
How long will my repairs take?
AUnfortunately, we cannot give a definitive timeline as unexpected delays come up during the repair process. However, here at Performance Collision St. Catharines, we do keep all our guests updated every three to four business days during the repair process.
Q
What happens if my rental max reaches before my repairs are complete?
AWe do our best to stick within your rental limit, but there are unexpected delays that are out of our control, so the rental vehicle is between you and your insurance company.
Q
What do I need for an estimate and how long does it take?
APlease provide us with your VIN number – That will be located on your ownership or insurance slip. Typically an estimate takes 20-25 minutes.
Q
What is the warranty on the repairs?
AWe warranty all the work we do on your vehicle.
Q
What if my insurance company says Performance Collision is not a preferred shop? How does that affect the work being done?
AEach insurance company does have a list of Collision Repair shops that they have on a preferred list that they will warranty the work done on your vehicle. Not being on the preferred list does not mean the work done on your vehicle will not be warrantied because we do warranty the work ourselves for as long as you own the vehicle. Performance Collision St. Catharines is on the preferred list for the following insurance companies: Aviva, Intact, Unifund, Royal and Sun Alliance, and CAA.
Q
What certifications does the body shop have?
APerformance Collision St. Catharines is a Certified Repair Centre for Acura, Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, FIAT, Genesis, Hyundai, Honda, Infiniti, Kia, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, and Volkswagen. Additionally, we are certified for aluminum repair for Ford trucks.
Q
What if damage is found during the repair that is not on the original estimate?
AThe original estimate we provide is strictly a preliminary estimate and does not account for any damage that cannot be seen. If you are going through insurance then we would relay the additional damage to your insurance company for approval. If it is something that you are paying for then we will contact you for approval.
Q
When is my deductible due?
AYour deductible is paid to us when your vehicle is complete.
Q
What if my vehicle is declared a write off?
AIf your insurance company declares your vehicle a write off or total loss you will be responsible for collecting your plates and personal belongings from the vehicle. Once you are confident with the agreement with your insurance company you will then need to let Performance Collision St. Catharines know they are allowed to release your vehicle.

Performance Collision St. Catharines also offers a $500 Total Loss Savings Voucher that can be used towards the purchase of a new or pre-owned vehicle throughout the Performance Auto Group.

Q
What is the difference between Aftermarket and OEM parts?
AOEM parts are parts originally made by your manufacturer (Toyota, Audi, etc). Aftermarket parts are made by third party companies to mimic original parts. The fit and quality of Aftermarket parts may not always be identical to that of OEM parts. If your insurance company is only authorizing Aftermarket parts then we would be able to get you the price difference that you are able to pay to purchase OEM parts for your repairs.
